The Mailbutler mobile app has been one of our biggest challenges yet. We’ve changed and improved it quite a few times since we first introduced it back in 2019.
In 2021, after a lot of thought and discussion, we made the difficult decision to remove all sending capabilities from it and channel our resources into our core desktop extension.
The mobile app did come with sending functionalities at first, but we realized that they didn’t add real value to the package as they had been rather inconsistent.
Today, we’re proud to say that the Mailbutler mobile app is the best it’s ever been. Read on to find out what its main purpose is and what you can use it for.
The current version of the Mailbutler mobile app is designed to serve as a companion app. This means that you, as a Mailbutler user, can’t send or schedule emails to be sent from the mobile app.
You can, however, use the app to check the status of your emails on the go after you send them from a computer or your email client’s mobile app. (Mailbutler is designed for Gmail, Apple Mail, and Outlook.)
But is tracking emails all you can do on the app?
Of course not! The Mailbutler mobile app gives you access to three other great features. Learn more below.
To be able to install and use our mobile app, you need to sign up for Mailbutler on your computer. (You can’t create a new account in-app.)
The Mailbutler mobile companion app is extremely easy to use as its design is simple and straightforward.
Our mobile app homepage provides you with a brief overview of the tasks you need to prioritize today and your email activity.
It also shows you how many of the emails you’ve sent were opened in the last 48 hours.
Aside from the homepage, the Mailbutler mobile app comes with a separate screen for each of the four features you can use on the go: Emails, Contacts, Notes, and Tasks. Here’s what they look like:
The Emails mobile app feature is in fact Email Tracking. Here, you can see which of your messages have been opened and when. If you tap on one of the emails, you’ll also be able to see:
What’s more, the Emails feature allows you to add tasks (including follow-up tasks, previously follow-up reminders) and notes to your emails so you don’t have to remember every important piece of information.
As the name suggests, the Contacts mobile app feature lets you view your existing email contacts and add new ones.
It also gives you recommendations on when to reach each of your contacts based on the tracking data Mailbutler collects for their email address.
This, of course, works only when you’ve enabled our email tracking service.
The Notes mobile app feature gives you access to all the notes you’ve added to your emails and contacts. Here, you can edit and share them with other Mailbutler users.
This feature also lets you filter your notes to find the ones you need faster.
The Tasks mobile app feature is quite similar to the Notes one. It provides you with a list of the tasks you’ve added to your messages and contacts.
To help you find the items you’re looking for more quickly, the Mailbutler Tasks mobile app feature lets you use filters. You can choose to view all your tasks or only the ones you haven’t completed yet.
There’s also a search box that allows you to find tasks by entering specific keywords like “Zoom meeting,” “sales documents,” “follow up,”, etc.
The Mailbutler mobile app makes an excellent companion product to our desktop extension.
You can use it to keep track of your email communication with your teammates and clients, especially the ones who live and work in completely different time zones than yours. Your computer might not always be turned on, but your smartphone probably is.
