2.2.7 – Feb 12th, 2019

New Features

  • We want to make sure you're informed of what's new and changed. After each version update, you'll now receive a notification that lets you find our release notes.

Improvements

  • In earlier versions, users who disabled Undo Send pop-up could still use this feature in Outbox by right clicking on the sending message. We've made this a lot easier by adding a banner on top of each outgoing email.
  • When a message is tracked, in earlier versions you had to hover over the checkmark to see first open date. Which, could have been easier if it's just there. It's now automatically shown next to the blue ticks, as soon as it's opened.
  • You can now quickly undo your message with keyword shortcut (^⌘U by default)!

Fixes

  • You can define your working hours to personalize when Mailbutler sends you notifications. Maybe it's hard for apps and bots to understand the human concept of sleep, but we found and fixed a bug which caused Mailbutler to ignore those set hours when snoozing emails and sending follow-up notifications.
  • Sorted out a problem which caused undoing a message to also undo whichever email tracking mode you have manually selected, and revert it back to the default setting.
  • Fixed an odd issue when you pick multiple tracked messages of your own (from your sent folder) and forward them, they would unintentionally be marked as opened.
  • Resolved several incompatability issues of Mailbutler with CargoLifter.
  • Fixed UI glitches that caused avatars in Undo Send pop-up to sometimes show up incorrectly.
  • Squished a few frustrating bugs where for some users, a tracked email is shown as being opened before the message was sent.

2.2.6 – January 29th, 2019

New Features

  • Important: For users with an IMAP account, please make sure to update to the latest version to ensure Send Later and Snooze functionalities to work.
  • We have removed support for 10.11 El Capitan or lower. Users running macOS 10.11 or lower can continue using Mailbutler version 2.2.5.
  • We have removed Attachment Upload. Instead, you can continue using this feature as a free standalone plugin, CargoLifter. (Learn more). CargoLifter offers more upload options, flexibility - and it's free forever!

Improvements

  • We added an option to hide Undo Send's popover. You can still show it by manually activating Mailbutler's companion app during the Undo Send window.
  • Undo Send popover no longer grabs keyboard focus from Mail.
  • Updated to a new and more stable UI to control tracking when composing a new message.
  • For scheduled messages the recipient is shown in the message list overview (i.e. they're handled like drafts).

Fixes

  • Thank you for your feedback - the Undo Sendpopover works properly with full screen now!
  • Fixed social login with Google.
  • Fixed some display issues in the companion app if you're running 10.12.
  • Resolved an issue where some users had more than one sponsoring link added under certain circumstances with sponsored actions.

2.2.5 – January 15th, 2019

New Features

  • Social login - You can now use your social accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google) to login or register for a Mailbutler account from your menu bar app.

Improvements

  • Performance improvements for Apple Mail due to overhauled avatar loading.
  • We've improved the control and display of Undo Send. When you send an email with Undo Send enabled, it will show up from your menu bar app as a banner (instead of alerts), also displaying more info such as recipient name, subject line. This also means they'll show up in your Notification Center again.
  • Mailbutler handles sending messages while on a slow connection more gracefully now.

Fixes

  • After successfully using Mailbutler to unsubscribe from a newsletter, the Unsubscribe button will no longer be shown. Just like the elevator, pressing Unsubscribe button furiously more than once does not speed things up.
  • Messages sometimes stuck around in the outbox for an extra up to 30 seconds when Undo Send was enabled. That's a really long time. Unless you're really into correcting mistakes like we are. Mistakes like this one right here. We fixed it.
  • Sometimes a scheduled message showed the scheduled time instead of actual delivery time. This may or may not have revealed some midnight workers who pretend to email at 9am. On the bright side, we got it fixed in 2.2.5. It's eliminated. Done.
  • We also fixed an issue where some users couldn't install our plug-in.

2.2.4 – January 2nd, 2019

Improvements

  • Contact Details now display info for all members of a conversation.
  • Stability improvements.

Fixes

  • Mailbutler now checks if you're logged in before attempting to send a message, to make sure you're not accidentally missing out on its features. You can still send the message without logging in though, it's cool.
  • The about panel is now dark mode compatible.
  • Fixed a bug that could lead to random crashes under macOS 10.14 Mojave for some users.
  • Mailbutler now handles cases where mails could get stuck in the outbox without an error message.
  • Fixed UI glitches in Contacts Details.
  • Fixed a bug that display contact details of user instead of recipient.
  • Improved our login error alerts (wrong password etc.)

2.2.3 – November 13th, 2018

New Features

  • We constantly strive to improve communication between you as a user and our team. Mailbutler now shows you real time information when there's abnormal server status.

Improvements

  • Small functionality improvements and fixes.

Fixes

  • We fixed an issue where the email header in Mail could disappear under 10.12 Sierra (which is, by far, the weirdest bug we encountered).
  • Mailbutler was quite confident that you should opt out from newsletters that it thought was junk. So confident that it hid the 'Not Junk' button from Mail app. We fixed that bug (and attitude).

2.2.2 – October 31st, 2018

New Features

  • Compatibility mode support for POP accounts: You can now use Send Later and Snooze with POP accounts (compatibility mode only, 10.12 or later).

Improvements

    No improvements this time

Fixes

  • Removed small UI glitches under macos Mojave.
  • Resolved an error that could occur when Send Later is used for the first time.

2.2.1 – October 17th, 2018

New Features

  • The Mailbutler menu bar app now supports dark mode!

Improvements

  • When you open a dashboard page from the Mailbutler App or Apple Mail Plugin you'll be logged in automatically.
  • Improvements to uninstallation process.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that could cause repeating unnecessary prompts to authorize an email service (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud…).
  • Fixed some rough edges on the plug-in's dark mode support.
  • Fixes a crash that could happen after clicking on tracking details.
  • Fixes an issue where Mailbutler would launch Mail unnecessarily.
  • Fixes an issue where Mail would present a cryptic error message when the Plugin wasn't installed or enabled yet.
  • Fixes some UI glitches in the popover for inserting templates while composing a message.

2.2 – October 2nd, 2018

New Features

  • Compatibility Mode: The new Mailbutler comes with new Snooze and Send Later functionalities which run when you are offline. However this means certain email servers are not supported. We therefore introduced compatibility mode, which will allow Snooze and Send Later to work normally again. *Please note that Snooze and Send Later for email accounts on compabitility mode will only run when your computer stays awake.
  • Mailbutler now supports Outlook.com, Yahoo! and AOL email accounts!

Improvements

  • Mailbutler's UI is way more responsive now and reacts faster to changes. This includes sync between plugin and menu bar app.

Fixes

  • In certain cases installation under Mojave could fail. This shouldn't happen any more.
  • In certain cases Mojave users coming from older versions of Mailbutler could end up with multiple plugins in Mail's 'Manage Plug-Ins…' preferences. Now there can only be one. This should also fix a case where an older version of Mailbutler would stick around and cause repeating alerts that an incompatible 'Mailbutler.mailbundle' was detected.
