After his studies in industrial engineering at RWTH Aachen University, Tobias co-founded Mailbutler GmbH together with Fabian in 2015. In his free time, he spends most of his time in the garden and with his son Timo.

We are thrilled to introduce you to our latest feature, the Smart Assistant, which uses OpenAI to provide even more productivity tools to help you get things done faster and more efficiently. However, we understand that with new features come new questions about how we handle your data, and we want to ensure that we address your concerns.

    Privacy Protection Measures

To be clear, we only transmit your email body to OpenAI when you use the Smart Assistant feature. This data is crucial for the feature to function properly, and we want to assure you that we handle your data with the utmost care.

We have also taken measures to ensure that email addresses are replaced with dummy variables before it's sent to OpenAI, so you can be confident that your privacy is protected as much as possible. If you are not comfortable sending your email body to OpenAI for analysis, we recommend not using this feature.

In addition to the measures we have already taken to protect your data when using the Smart Assistant feature, we are exploring new ways to enhance our privacy protection even further. Our team is working around the clock to research and develop new security protocols, and we are always looking for ways to improve our existing features to make them even more secure.

    Privacy First Approach

We believe that the Smart Assistant feature can be a game-changer for your productivity, but we also know that privacy is a crucial concern for many of our users. That's why we've taken a "privacy first" approach to designing this feature and all of our services.

We only collect data that is necessary to provide you with the best possible experience. We do not sell your data to third-party advertisers or use it for any other purposes than to provide you with the best possible experience. We do not believe in using our users' data as a commodity, as some other services do.

We earn money through our paid plans, which are designed to provide you with additional features and functionality that can help boost your productivity. Although free services may seem like a great deal, it's important to think twice before using them to ensure that the true cost doesn't end up being your personal data or security.

    Our Ongoing Commitment

We believe that these changes reflect our commitment to our users and our goal of providing the best possible service with the highest level of privacy protection. If you have any questions or concerns about our privacy policy, we encourage you to read our updated privacy policy, the OpenAI privacy policy, or to contact us directly at

Thank you for being a Mailbutler user, and we look forward to continuing to provide you with the best possible tools for your daily email productivity.
