As Head of Customer Success at Mailbutler, I help people improve the way they communicate and work more efficiently. I enjoy writing about productivity, email management, and technology. Outside of work, I love spending time in nature.

Logging your emails in HubSpot is hard when you send them from Apple Mail. HubSpot Sales does not support Apple Mail. So no native Apple Mail HubSpot integration exists.

You can still get emails and engagement data from Apple Mail into HubSpot. This guide covers three working methods, what each one logs, and where the limits are.

How do you set up an Apple Mail HubSpot integration?

You have three practical options:

  • HubSpot BCC address: logs sent emails on the contact record. HubSpot cannot track opens or clicks for emails sent from Apple Mail.
  • HubSpot forwarding address: logs replies you received. Same limit: no tracking data.
  • Mailbutler: tracks emails sent from Apple Mail, adds open and link-click data to the contact's Activity timeline, and can BCC your emails to HubSpot automatically.

Pick the BCC address if you only need a manual record of what you sent. Choose Mailbutler if you also want to see who opened and clicked.

Method 1: Apple Mail HubSpot integration with Mailbutler

Mailbutler is an email productivity extension for Apple Mail, Gmail, and Outlook. It adds email tracking directly inside Apple Mail and sends the results to HubSpot.

How to connect Mailbutler to HubSpot

  1. Install Mailbutler in Apple Mail and create your account in the sidebar.
  2. Open the Mailbutler Sidebar.
  3. Go to Account & Preferences > Integrations and connect your HubSpot account.
  4. While you configure the integration, set up automatic BCC to CRM. Mailbutler then sends a copy of your emails to HubSpot, so you no longer add the BCC address by hand.
  5. Send emails with Email Tracking and Link Tracking turned on.
  6. Open the contact in HubSpot and check the Activity section.

Tracked emails you send from Apple Mail now show opens and link clicks on the contact's timeline. With automatic BCC to CRM on, HubSpot also receives a copy of each email.

What you get beyond basic logging

  • Per-recipient tracking: see which person opened an email you sent to several people.
  • Device and location data: see where and on what device an email was opened.
  • IP exclusion: keep your colleagues’ opens out of the data.

Mailbutler also offers mail merge, recipient-optimized email scheduling, shared inbox collaboration, signature marketing, and more inbox productivity tools inside Apple Mail.

Method 2: Log sent emails with the HubSpot BCC address

The BCC address is a free, manual alternative. It works on all HubSpot plans, and every user in your account shares the same address.

How to find and use the BCC address

  1. In HubSpot, click the settings icon.
  2. Go to Data Management > Objects, then select Activities.
  3. Open the Email Log & Track tab.
  4. Under Manual Logging, click Copy next to the BCC Address field.
  5. In Apple Mail, write your email and paste the address into the Bcc field.

HubSpot logs the email with its content and attachments. It links the email to the contact, the primary company, and the five most recent open deals. HubSpot's BCC and forwarding guide lists every requirement.

What to watch out for

  • The sender needs personal email access, and the sending address must belong to a HubSpot user, a connected work email, or an alias.
  • Logged emails can be up to 40 MB in total, including attachments.
  • The BCC address alone does not track opens or clicks.
  • Put your contact in the To field. Recipients on the Bcc line do not get logged on their own record.

Method 3: Log received replies with the forwarding address

The forwarding address logs emails you received. Apple Mail is on HubSpot's list of compatible clients for this feature.

  1. Copy the Forwarding Address from the same Manual Logging section.
  2. Open the reply in Apple Mail.
  3. Forward that single reply to the copied address.

Forward the individual reply, not a long thread. HubSpot needs the forwarded message header, and your email server must allow external forwarding.

FAQ

Is there a native Apple Mail HubSpot integration?

No. HubSpot's Sales extension supports Gmail and Outlook, not Apple Mail.

Can HubSpot track opens and clicks from Apple Mail?

Not on its own. The BCC address logs the email but does not track opens or clicks. You need to use Mailbutler to add that data.

Conclusion

HubSpot offers no native Apple Mail support, but you can work around it. The BCC and forwarding addresses cover basic logging at no extra cost. Mailbutler adds open, click, device, and location data to the contact timeline and can BCC your emails to HubSpot automatically.
